“When I die I want to spend a good part of my first million years in heaven painting, so I can get to the bottom of the subject.”
Winston Churchill, in addition to all of his other amazing attributes known to history, was also a painter. In fact, following World War II he (reluctantly) allowed his paintings to go on display in eight American cities.
There is something about this quote of his that really touched me.
Note: I first read this quote at the Churchill Museum at Blenheim Palace in England but did not write it down. I found it online, but it was misquoted from the way it appeared in the museum. Thus, I have paraphrased it. The actual quote may therefore be slightly different from what I have written.Tags: quotes
