Motivation

I had to take a break from photos in order to post the following, so that everyone could get a good laugh.  I am sure that many who read this blog have had the opportunity to check out more technically oriented photography forums and read some of the banter back and forth about what is better….Canon or Nikon, PC or Mac etc.  Lately, with new Nikon (D800) and Canon (5D Mk III) cameras being released almost simultaneously, these arguments have reached new heights.  For a humorous satire about these arguments check out this piece by Roger Cicala.  Only then will you understand the title of this post!

In case anyone is wondering how many images are in the project’s ‘final cut’, the answer is 47.  But don’t worry, I will take breaks each time several images are presented.

In my last post I wrote about the advantages of photographing near home because of the ability to revisit sites again and again in different conditions.  I presented an image of the “528 Boat Ramp” which my friends and I visit frequently.  But how else can it look?  Well, 528 has many moods to capture!  Here are two more:

Believe me, a lot of outings are flops from a purely photographic standpoint, but you have to keep going back because you never really know what you will find.  Photographic success or not, breakfast with your friends after the shoot is always fun!

OK, there is plenty more Carrie Furnace images and audio to come…..but I thought it might be time to take a quick break from that project.

Under the idea that of it is of great benefit to shoot near home because you can return many times, during different seasons and weather conditions, I offer the following image taken near the “528 Boat Ramp” which me and my “Sunday Morning Shooting Buddies” like to frequent.  Trust me, it doesn’t look like this very often!
